Our Story

Built by practitioners, for practitioners.

great{with}talent was established in 2003 by a group of practitioners who had spent their careers at SHL. They were later joined by colleagues who had built their careers inside other institutions that defined modern people assessment — Korn Ferry, Hay Group, Saville among them. The conviction that drove them out was simple: the best assessment science was locked away — by cost, by barriers to entry, by the consultancy model that grew up around it — inaccessible to most of the organisations that needed it most.

FindingPotential was the first expression of that conviction. An assessment platform that brought the rigour of professional occupational psychology into the hands of practitioners — recruiters, HR teams, line managers — without requiring a consultant in the room.

Twenty years on, great{with}talent operates six connected service lines covering the full arc of the employee experience: FindingPotential, FeedForward, OnBoarder, WinningFormula, LastOpinion, and SafeSpace. From the moment someone is assessed for a role, through their first months in post, the years they spend developing, and ultimately the conversation when they leave. Each service produces evidence. Together, they produce intelligence.

Match is the latest expression of the founding mission — assessment that works best when it's used early, at volume, connected to a defined role profile, and affordable enough to deploy without counting the candidates.

What we believe about assessment.

Most organisations don't lack data about their people. They lack the right questions, the right method, and the right interpretation of what comes back.

Assessment works best early.

Used as a sift on volume, not a check on decisions already made. The organisations getting ahead of the current hiring environment are the ones who've moved assessment to the front of the funnel.

Criteria first, candidates second.

You can't assess for fit if you haven't defined what fit looks like. Match starts with the role, not the candidate.

Every candidate deserves feedback.

Regardless of outcome. It costs nothing extra and matters to people. Every candidate who completes a FindingPotential questionnaire receives a personal report automatically.

Defensible, not over-claimed.

Science supports what science supports. We name our protections clearly, explain the mechanisms, and don't over-promise on outcomes we can't evidence.

Plain language is non-negotiable.

Our reports are written for the person who has to decide what to do on Monday morning, not the analyst who admires the regression table. The rigour is in the method. The output is human.

How We Work

Three things that are genuinely different.

Senior people do the senior work.

We are deliberately not a pyramid. The consultants who design your study, conduct your interviews, and write your report are the same people who answer the phone when you have a question six months later. This is apparently rare. We think it should be the standard.

Independence is part of the offer.

great{with}talent is privately owned and answers to its clients, not to investors looking for the next exit. This matters most when the findings are uncomfortable. We say what we have heard, even when it would be easier not to.

Method is taken seriously.

Our questionnaires, frameworks, and scoring systems are built carefully and tested over years of practice. The technical groundwork matters because the credibility of the insight depends on it. FindingPotential is ISO 27001 accredited, Cyber Essentials certified, and GDPR compliant.

We have watched the questions facing organisations evolve — from engagement to retention, from culture to conduct, from talent assessment to the proper use of artificial intelligence. Through all of it, our role has been the same: to bring intelligence and integrity to the moments where it counts most.
